A bit more exciting than your average travel album, skate brand COMUNE has shared their travel photos from SXSW with us. Meandering through Salton Sea, Las Cruces and El Paso, the hazy grainy photos embody all that was great about the music festival. Photographed by Mike Quinones and Jason Lee Perry, the images make you want to want to drop what you’re doing and go hang with the cool kids.

And well, even if you can’t join them, snag their look here.

In collaboration with Christie’s, Runway to Green and Alberto Mugrabi, FENDI auctioned off 6 one-of-a-kind, artist-designed baguette handbags last night. As a part of the “Bid to Save the Earth” event, the proceeds from the online auction will go to benefit environmental organizations including Oceana, Natural Resources Defense Council, Conservation International and Central Park Conservancy. Runway to Green brings together today’s most relevant fashion designers to raise funds and educate on environmental awareness.

This here is the first in a continuing series (exciting!) where we staffers at AMMO share our monthly AMMO. Over the coming weeks, you’ll see our April inspiration.

Jamie’s inspiration comes in the form of calmness materialized in relaxed silhouettes, worn-forever denim and earth tones. He writes,

I am inspired by the calmness of the universe and learning not to stress unimportant situations and dilemmas. Take a deep breathe sometimes, and slow down and look at the bigger picture. It will also will reflect my style for the season. Lightweight oversized cardigans, loose sheer tops, organic jewelry distressed denim.

He has also found inspiration in this quote by Gandhi:

There is more to life than increasing its speed.

These are images from a forthcoming book entitled Artism: The Art of Autism, edited by Deborah Hosseni and published by Autism Today, based in Canada. Organized by genre (Precisionism, Abstraction, Impressionism, etc.), the book plays on the strengths of each individual while grouping the artists together under the umbrella of autism. However, each painting could stand on its own despite categorization. As a creative outlet, the medium of paint on canvas has helped these artists bridge the communicative gap so that they can share their stories, passions and inspirations with the patron.
