How many of us have just wanted to hide away for a week and avoid our grown up responsibilities?  Well in the new movie, Laggies,  Keira Knightley figured out just how.  Laggies follows Knightley as she struggles to figure it all out while hiding at a teenager’s (Chloe Grace Moretz) home along with her father (Sam Rockwell).  The trailer makes this all too real journey seem funny and slightly easy which makes us want to see it immediately; so we can figure it all out too.

Rebloggin’: Industria Superstudio Interviews Photographer Nigel Parry

Our friends over at Industria Superstudios in NY sat down with noted photographer Nigel Parry.  Here’s a snippet of the interview:

What are 5 essentials that make for a successful shoot day?

5 Essentials:

The ability to see the picture in your mind before you take it.

The ability to ask yourself constantly why you are shooting what you are shooting.

The understanding if what you are shooting and what it will say to the viewer.

That your subject shows up!

…And lastly some instrument to record that which you see (Camera, or whatever)

Check out the rest of the interview, here.

Random Fun: BIG Maze at the National Building Museum in D.C.

BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), the Danish architecture firm, has built a Baltic Birch plywood maze inside the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.  Here’s what the lead architect had to say:

“The concept is simple: as you travel deeper into a maze, your path typically becomes more convoluted,” said lead architect Bjarke Ingels. “What if we invert this scenario and create a maze that brings clarity and visual understanding upon reaching the heart of the labyrinth? From outside, the maze’s cube-like form hides the final reveal behind its 18-foot-tall walls. On the inside, the walls slowly descend towards the centre, which concludes with a grand reveal – a 360 degree understanding of your path in and how to get out.”

Check it out while it lasts.  The maze will be open until September 1st.
