Roll On

As much as we hate to even say it, summer is halfway over. Sad, but true. Where did the time go?! Maybe you didn’t get a chance to make it over to The Lot at The High Line to see the Rainbow City exhibit presented by FriendsWithYou before it ended.  But don’t fret, you still have the other half of the summer to enjoy some good old-fashioned fun. Choosing the perfect warm sunny day to make it’s debut, The High Line Rink opened today at The Lot at 30th Street and 10th Ave. A collaboration between Friends of The High Line and Uniqlo, the 8,000-square-foot roller rink will be open until September 26.  $12 for adults and $10 for kid gets you admission to the rink and a pair of skates, but admission is free for the first 500 people to show up today, Friday, and Saturday.  So what are you waiting for?  Summer won’t last forever!

Own The Night

A|X Armani Exchange has just launched their fall ad campaign photographed by Matthew Scriven.  Shot on a rooftop, the images ooze with sensuality and mystery.  To be honest, we want to be at this party.  And those ensembles?  That’s exactly how we want to be dressed for a night out this fall.  Covered up just enough to stay warm while out in the crisp fall air, but still sexy. Yes please!

Claudia Schiffer A/W ’11 Collection Feature Film

The pieces modeled by Claudia Schiffer in this video hold much more of a significance and personal connection than anything she has ever strutted down the catwalk in, as they are pieces from the Autumn/Winter ‘11 cashmere collection of her own label. Schiffer partnered with director Danny Vaia to create this film to showcase the collection in addition to the launch of her new website ClaudiaSchiffer.com. The A/W ’11 collection features Schiffer’s luxurious style, while also remaining wearable and practical to an everyday womenswear standard. See images of the collection below!

Well-known hair stylist Roy Teeluck of the Roy Teeluck Salon in New York and Miami, shared tips and tricks for handling your hair in the heat this summer with Sheckys.com. Teeluck tells Lynden Halpern of Sheckys.com that, “Summer updos should be unfussy and unstructured.” He suggests loose buns and ponytails with hair wrapped around the elastic as easy updos, which can transition from a day to night look. In his how-to video, the hair stylist demonstrates just how to create these quick and effortless styles. Teeluck preaches utilizing products to add texture and to achieve a different look, rather than using flat irons and blow dryers, to style hair for the summer. He recommends several different products from the L ’Oreal Professionnel hair care line to smooth, texture, tame frizz and secure hair.  For the full interview with Roy Teeluck, check out Sheckys.com
