And The Winners Are: ICY & SOT + Michael Anderson | Red Bull Curates

Last Week we attended the Red Bull Curates: The Canvas Cooler New York event where 20 emerging innovative NY artist presented there transformed Red Bull cooler designs to win a showcase during SCOPE Miami in December.  The winners are both ICY & SOT and Michael Anderson.

When asked how he narrowed down the twenty artists to two final winners, judge Jaime Rojo (Editor in Chief, BrooklynStreetArt.com) said, “I looked at how the artist used his or her craftsmanship to accommodate his or her vision on the medium that was given, and how well they utilized that medium knowing that the cooler was going to go into a bar that is not well lit.”

The other artists in the contest where: David M. Cook, Cope2, Hanksy, Indie 184, Jerkface, Brian Kirhagis, Sofia Maldonado, MRS, Phetus, Beau Stanton, Toofly, twerps!, Tanja Vulin, UR New York, Col Wallnuts, Steve Wasterval, WhisBe, and Zimad.

Art + Music: Sonos + Diplo + Shane McCauley | Blow Your Head

image

In collaboration with Sonos Studio, filmmaker Jordan Bloch produced a film about Diplo and, Music Photographer, Shane McCauley’s fusion of music and photography culture.   “Blow Your Head” follows Diplo and Shane around the globe via SONOS and Hype Machine music services.

“Utilizing the new Hype Machine music service on the SONOS WIRELESS HIFI SYSTEM, this installation allows visitors to pick songs from Diplo’s favorite international music blogs and experience how music takes you on a journey.  Each song directly elicits the response of a pulsing stream of giant projected video and photography collected by Diplo and Shane from their adventures documenting music scenes.  The imagery moves and alternates in response to the sound coming from SONOS PLAYBAR based on a song selected via the Hype Machine service on the SONOS. Visitors pick a track and then wander through the flow of imagery for a journey of their own.”
