Weekly Fresh | AMMO: Rich Wierdo Clothing Brand
This week’s Fresh | AMMO is NYC based clothing brand, Rich Wierdo. We interviewed founder and designer, Jeff Crayton and found out the inspiration behind the brand and whether or not dyslexia had any thing to do with the spelling of “Wierdo”.
1. What’s your AMMO?
My AMMO is a Fresh Never Seen before Timeless Clothing Brand.
2. For those that don’t know what’s the story behind RichWierdo? Is Wierdo spelled differently on purpose or was this a typo gone right?
I’m so weird! I really thought I was spelling it correctly in the beginning . I realized that I was spelling it wrong and I said, ‘You know what let’s keep it.’ Everything else is correct. So I’d say a type gone right fit’s perfect.
3. Where do you draw your design inspiration?
I draw my inspiration from the elements of the brand which are music, art, and wildlife. What can be worn that is timeless that will represent those three elements plus embody the brands name.
4. Streetwear brands are taking over in terms of influencing high-end designers, where do you see this influence going in the feature? Are we losing the idea of tailored clothing for a varsity jacket and kilt?
I feel that street brands are just easy to wear so those who are lazy or don’t have time to dress will put something quick on. But it works in both directions because there are alot of important places to go so maybe one can pick up something easy then mix it with something contemporary. I see alot of that happening now-a-days.
5. Where is Rich Wierdo sold and what can we expect next from the line?
RichWierdo is sold exclusively in boutiques in Brooklyn, Harlem, and New Jersey . The main store is online; www.richwierdo.com. The brand is headed to the top, we have so much to offer this coming Spring/Summer season. As it is our 5th Anniversary, we have so much planned for our Fashion Week show and looking to open our flagship store this Fall.

Cat Power x Ryan Hemsworth x Angel Haze
Manhattan RYAN HEMSWORTH REMIX
There are many songs I’ve dubbed close to perfection. Here is another, three rising once v. ‘underground’ ‘heavy hitters’ have been joined via remix in one of those triple threat type songs. We have the tough tongue in cheek rapper/songstress (Angel Haze), the master of sound seduction (Ryan Hemsworth) and the dreamy vocalist (Cat Power). Built off of Cat Power’s ‘Manhattan,’ this remix is basically crowning the song as most likely to be on the top 3 of your most played on iTunes.
Angel Haze opens for Cat Power at Terminal 5 tomorrow the 29th, this is a song to listen to pre-show.
Another GENRE BENDING song to play and experience the ‘feels.’ Few songs you can dance/make-out/cry to once again Hemsworth shows that you can do all three…At the same time. Maybe.

SANTIGOLD- GIRLS
Santogold’s newest video.
Ironically I find this to be the remedy for the many flaws in Show ‘Girls.’ With a cast that is much more representative of New York girls than the one protrayed in Dunham’s fantasy.
Despite the irony (this was written for the show) this song is fun and shows girls as girls are from all ages.
Beware this fun video and catchy tune may more than likely get stuck in your head at some point today.
