New Music: Mansions On The Moon | Full Moon EP

The Cali-bred group Mansions On The Moon has released their third EP, Full Moon, which is available on iTunes and the bands Bandcamp page. The quartet has the fan approval from producer and music influencer Chad Hugo and have previously worked with notables Diplo and Pharrell Williams.  First listen our favorite track is “More Than Nothing” which features vocals by Codi.  The song puts us in the middle of a Sofia Coppola film; having a slight teenagery love moment.

For the rest of the month, Mansions On The Moon will be touring across the west coast with pop duo Cherub:

10/17/13 – La Jolla, CA – The Loft

10/18/13 – Los Angeles, CA – The Roxy

10/19/13 – San Francisco, CA – Slim’s

10/20/13 – Santa Cruz, CA – Catalyst Atrium

10/22/13 – Crystal Bay, NV – The Crystal Bay Club

10/24/13 – Eugene, OR – Wow Hall

10/25/13 – Portland, OR – Wonder Ballroom

A collaboration is in the works that alot of us did NOT see coming. In celebration of their 40th and 25th Anniversaries, respectively, Hello Kitty and THE SIMPSONS are joining forces on a product line due to release in 2014.

“Fusing Hello Kitty’s iconic design sensibility with each SIMPSONS character, this unique collaboration will delight fans of Hello Kitty, THE SIMPSONS and everyone in between,” said Roz Nowicki, executive vice president of global sales and retail at Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products. “Just in time for back-to-school, fans of every age can own a special product from the line of this historical collaboration.”

The collaboration will make it’s first appearance during Brand Licensing Europe this week for brands to preview. however the items will not be available until next years back to school season. No word on what the actually products will be or look like but we’re sure the range will be fun.

New Music: Ms. Lauryn Hill | Consumerism

I never thought I’d type these words again but am elated to have the opportunity.  The beloved Ms. Lauryn Hill has released new music while incarcerated entitled, “Consumerism.”

“Consumerism is part of some material I was trying to finish before I had to come in. We did our best to eek out a mix via verbal and emailed direction, thanks to the crew of surrogate ears on the other side. Letters From Exile is material written from a certain space, in a certain place. I felt the need to discuss the underlying socio-political, cultural paradigm as I saw it. I haven’t been able to watch the news too much recently, so I’m not hip on everything going on. But inspiration of this sort is a kind of news in and of itself, and often times contains an urgency that precedes what happens. I couldn’t imagine it not being relevant. Messages like these I imagine find their audience, or their audience finds them, like water seeking it’s level.” — Ms. Lauryn Hill
