If you’ve ever criticized Rihanna for being a non-dancing pop star, you are about to get a pleasant surprise. In Ri’s new video for “Where Have You Been,” she steps her game up with some dance steps in a Midsummer Nights Dream-meets-Tribal Dance-inspired theme. Even if one of her dance moves is making a box with her hands around her crotch and much of the video is Rihanna touching herself in ecstasy, I’m not complaining. The sets and costumes are elaborate and fantastic, and RiRi is a super-goddess managing to channel Vishnu and Diana Ross in the same hip swivel. Doesn’t get much better than this.

Originals White Space Project | Adidas
Adidas Originals celebrated the launch of their women’s spring 2012 campaign “Originals White Space Project” last night at the adidas Originals store in SoHo. Transformed from a white space, adidas Originals showcased the talents and originality of women’s lifestyle blog Highsnobette, musical sensation Yuna Zarai, fashion personalities Coco + Breezy and DJ Jasmine Solano. Recording artist Theophilus London was also in attendance.
Yuna performed three songs from her self-titled debut album, which dropped the same day as the launch party. One of the songs was the Pharrell Williams-produced single “Live Your Life.”
Tonight Kid Cudi released a brand new, self produced, track for the masses. Side Note: Peep the ‘Attack The Block’ movie samples. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, add it to the queue.
Liberty x Dr. Martens
Who doesn’t love a good pair of Docs? They’re certainly a staple in my wardrobe all year round, but it looks like I’m going to have to make more room in my closet this Summer. Available online June 1st, Liberty London has teamed up with the Doc for some seriously floral shoes and handbags. My favorites are the low tops; I can’t look at them without thinking “mad hatter chic.”
Music Video: iamamiwhoami, “Idle Talk”
Sure, maybe these iamamiwhoami videos were slightly more interesting when there was a little more mystery about who she was. But even though we’ve known for some time that she’s Jonna Lee, that doesn’t mean this track fulfills my dark synthpop fantasies any less. I have a soft spot for Scandinavian electronic music, and Lee’s woodsy, ethereal music videos are really next level. Totally worth watching, even if sometimes she freaks you out.
Holton Rower: Pour Paintings | The Hole NYC
Holton Rower makes paintings by pouring loads of different colored, doctored paint onto plywood methodically. The various techniques will be displayed in all of the galleries of The Hole, including small and medium pours on “hats,” (wood protrusions on which the paint is poured and flows down), works that feature “exclusions,” (when obstacles are placed on the object and the paint must flow around them), and five “tectonic pours.”
Prepare to be stunned.
